Every Monday and Tuesday. Beginner, intermediate and advanced students are split into groups, each with its own instructor.
Why families train here
Parents and kids train in the same hour
Ages 7–13 and adults share the 7 pm class, so you don't have to sit and watch. Younger children have their own 30-minute class just before.
Taught by a 6th-degree black belt
Master Wade Kirkpatrick has trained since age 9, taught for more than two decades and is an eight-time Texas State Champion.
Self-defense in every class
Students learn to defend against punches, kicks, takedowns and multiple attackers, building up step by step to realistic situations.
Safe, controlled sparring
No full contact. Sparring gear is required from gold belt up, and competing in tournaments is always optional.
From first bow to black belt
Classes are built on Shotokan karate and the Zen Do Kai system: basics, self-defense, kata, traditional weapons and sparring. Students move through ten belt ranks, testing each skill as they go.

Founder and head instructor. A direct student of Sensei Robert Gifford and the youngest person ever to earn a black belt in Zen Do Kai karate.

Questions parents ask
Where is Fulshear Family Karate?
Classes are held inside the River Bend Baptist Church building at 27600 FM 1093, Fulshear, TX 77441, just west of FM 1463. Directions and parking.
When are classes?
Monday and Tuesday evenings. Children ages 3–6 train from 6:30 to 7:00 pm. Children ages 7–13 and adults train from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
What ages can join?
Students can start at age 3. There is a class for ages 3–6 and a class for ages 7–13 and adults, so parents and children can train at the same time.
Do I need any experience?
No. Classes are divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups, and each group has its own instructor.
